Finally, for the first time ever, Cirque du Soleil is creating a brand new touring show specifically designed to play traditional theatres across North America! BANANA SHPEEL opens in NYC at the Beacon Theatre on March 23, 2010 with a tour beginning in September. BANANA SHPEEL from Cirque du Soleil is a roller-coaster mix of styles that blends comedy with tap, hip hop, eccentric dance and slapstick, all linked by a hilarious narrative that ignites a succession of wacky adventures. Theatre presenters will have access to co-marketing opportunities with other Cirque du Soleil productions throughout North America and in Las Vegas. . Since 1984, Cirque du Soleil has created original shows with a dramatic mix of circus arts and street entertainment, each with its own central storyline. Worldwide productions include: QUIDAM, DRALION, VAREKAI, CORTEO, KOOZA and OVO for the touring big tops; MYSTÈRE, “O”, KÀ, ZUMANITY, THE BEATLES LOVE and CRISS ANGEL BELIEVE for Las Vegas; SALTIMBANCO and ALEGRIA for arena presentations.
